Uruguay is renowned for its well-structured Tannat. Given the climatic similarities with Bordeaux, it has even more potential for producing great Merlot. It is for this reason, that when composing this wine, I opted for a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Tannat. The result is this beautiful smooth wine, with very vibrant black fruits on the mouth provided by the Merlot, and a solid structure and finish courtesy of the Tannat. The wine also displays very soft and elegant tannins. A delight to the palate! This wine was made with Antigua Bodega Stagnari from the region of Canelones, is on the outskirts of Montevideo.
