Proelio is a winery from Rioja devoted to crafting red wines that reflect the unique character of privileged territories. Its philosophy centers on preserving old, high-altitude vineyards located in various parts of Rioja. The plots that give life to the project—whose name means “battle” in Latin—are small treasures that stand resilient over time: Garnacha, Tempranillo, and Graciano vines, old and wise, yielding exceptional fruit that results in vibrant, expressive, and long-lasting wines.
At Proelio, the goal is to capture the essence of unique, little-explored areas to produce wines with a strong sense of identity. Each vineyard task is meticulously planned based on the specific needs of each plot. We own top-tier vineyards at high elevations, in cool locations, where old vines are cultivated with care. This allows us to create unrepeatable wines that nonetheless clearly express the soul of Rioja.
